Magritte and the Magi

I have always been fascinated by the Surrealist school of art. So I produced the mixed media painting below utilizing as many of Rene Magritte's motifs as I could cram in. The sky was done in acrylics with the rest in paper collage. I was especially happy to find a photograph of a boulder that is almost identical in appearance to one featured in several of his paintings. The three magi, their astrological paraphenalia, and the Christ child are all present.
