Jeremiad
The term above is generally applied to extended laments in the style of Jeremiah the prophet. In the picture below, however, I apply it to the whole saga of Jeremiah's life much as the Aeneid portrays the life of Aeneas.
I am a native of Southern California who has spent most of my life with my family in the state of Texas. I have a B.S. from UCLA in chemistry and a PhD from the University of Oregon in organic chemistry. I recently retired from Huntsman Corporation (formerly Texaco Chemical Co.) as research department manager. I am the co-author of 11 technical papers and 49 U. S. patents covering a wide range of applications.
I employ a variety of experimental techniques and media in my art, often utilizing vintage objects and pictures for my constructions and collages.
Several of my compositions have been chosen for exhibition at annual CIVA (Christians in the Visual Arts) conferences and traveling shows. Two are part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Biblical Art in Dallas.
I am a lifelong student and teacher of the Scriptures and have written a commentary analyzing the literary structure of each book in the Bible.
I have also developed and taught a series of creativity seminar/workshops, drawing on my own diverse experiences in the areas of chemical research, literary analysis, the visual arts, and cooking.
