Sin in the singular
In the most theological book of Paul (Romans), sin is mentioned 41 times, almost always in the singular.
Sin vs. sins (relative morality)
Whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.-- Romans 14:23
To know what to do and fail to do it is sin.-- James 4:17
Meat offered to idols-- I Corinthians 8 and 10:23-33
One man esteems certain days, etc.--- Romans 14:1-6
