WHY DON'T WE PRAY?

Start by defining prayer. What is difference between prayer and praise?

We accept God's power to save us but not to sustain us also. Why don't we ask for help through prayer?

1. Too self sufficient,

2. Don't want to bother God with our petty concerns,

3. He already knows what's best for us,

4. He doesn't interfere with our lives, Like Deism—one accepts God's involvement in creating the world but not in continuing to interact with it.

5. He gave us the brains to figure it out for ourselves,

6. Have tried it and it doesn't work.

7. Too busy

8. God doesn't exist

9. Don't know what to pray for

10. No time to do it correctly

11. Don't understand how it works

12. So many needs, I don't know where to begin

     
13. Afraid that God will give me what I asked for if I don't pray for the right thing

14.  Other people are already praying for the same thing

    15. Don't really want an answer to what we know is needed in our lives or others

    16. Lack of trust in God

    17. Relying on rote prayers

    18. Statistics disprove the efficacy of prayer
